Whole Wheat Khameeri Roti Recipe

Khameeri Roti is a traditional Indian flatbread that was a staple in the Mughal era. It is made using whole wheat flour, yeast, and Nestlé A+ Milk and is extremely soft and spongy. It is low in calories.

1/2 Tbsp(4.0 gm) Ghee
1/2 Tbsp(4.0 gm) Saunf
1/2 Cup(73.0 gm) Wheat Flour (Whole)
1/2 Powder Tbsp(6.0 gm) Sugar
1/2 Powder Tsp(1.0 gm) Sugar
1/4 Tsp(0.77 gm) Yeast
10 Ml(10.0 ml) Water
1/4 Tsp(1.0 gm) Salt
1/8 Cup(25.0 ml) Nestlé A+ Milk
  • In a mixing bowl, take 1/8th cup Nestlé A+ Milk, 1/2 tbsp sugar powder, and mix well.

  • In the same bowl add 1/2 cup whole wheat flour,1/2 tbsp crushed saunf,1/4th tsp salt, activated yeast,1 tsp ghee and mix well

  • Pouring in a little water, knead it into a soft dough.

  • Cover the dough and put aside for 15 min.

  • Rolling it into a ball form, coat it very lightly with whole wheat flour. Flatten and make it in a circular roti shape using a rolling pin.

  • Heat a nonstick tawa on a low flame and roast the roti on it.

  • Serve hot.
