Steps
- Step 1
For Sugar Syrup
In a pan add 4 tbsp sugar, water as required, 4 saffron strands,1/8 tsp green elaichi powder, mix and cook it to a one thread consistency.
- Step 2
Give a Nestle Twist by adding pistachios.
- Step 3
For Balushahi
In a bowl add 2/3 cup wheat flour,1/4 tsp baking powder,1/8 tsp salt,1 tbsp ghee, water as required, mix and knead lightly into a dough.
- Step 4
Flatten the dough with hand then cut into half and overlap each other for 56 times.
- Step 5
Divide the dough in equal portions and roll each portion into a round ball. Make a dent in the middle in each portion. It should look like a doughnut.
- Step 6
Heat oil in a kadhai and deepfry balushahi till golden.
- Step 7
Soak balushahi in a sugar syrup and serve.
