Wheat Besan Barfi Recipe

Most common sweet of India. It can be easily prepared at home with very basic ingredients. This aromatic flavorful sweet is rich in calories and protein.

1/4 Cup(36.0 gm) Wheat Flour (Whole)
1/4 Cup(31.0 gm) Besan
2.0 Powder Tbsp(22.0 gm) Sugar
2.0 Chopped Tsp(5.0 gm) Almond
2.0 Chopped Tsp(6.0 gm) Pista
8.0 Strand(0.8 gm) Kesar
0.13 Powder Tsp(0.25 gm) Green Elaichi
2.0 Tbsp(30.0 gm) Ghee
  • In a pan, heat 2 tbsp ghee, add 1/4th cup besan, 1/4th cup wheat flour

  • Mix till it thickens

  • Stir continuously to avoid any lumps formed

  • Roast till the aroma comes

  • Switch of the heat

  • allow it to cool a bit but let it be still warm

  • Add 2 tbsp sugar powder, 1/8th tsp green elaichi powder and a few kesar strands

  • Mix till it softens

  • Transfer it to a greased tray

  • Add 2 tsp chopped almond, 2 tsp chopped pista and gently press it

  • Allow it to set for a while

  • Cut it into squares

  • Serve it.
