Vermicelli Kunafa Recipe

Vermicelli Kunafa is a traditional Arabic dessert made with thin shredded or noodle-like pastry soaked in sweet, sugar-based syrup, and typically layered with cheese. This yummy dessert is loaded with lots of Protein.

2 Grated Tbsp(16.0 gm) Mozzarella
15 Gm(15.0 gm) Ricotta Cheese
1 Tbsp(12.0 gm) Butter
1/2 Cup(69.0 gm) Wheat Vermicelli
1/8 Tsp(0.49 ml) Lemon Juice
4 Tbsp(26.0 gm) Sugar
1/2 Cup(63.0 ml) Water
  • For Sugar Syrup

    In a pan add 1/4th cup sugar,2 tbsp sugar then bring to a boil and cook till its thicken in consistency.

  • Add 1/8th tsp lemon juice,1 strand off saffron and cook it well.

  • For Kunafa

    In a bowl add 1/2 cup vermicelli then break it nicely and add into the 1 tbsp butter then mix it well.

  • Divide butter vermicelli in half portion.

  • Take 1 katori and add into the half portion of butter vermicelli. Spread and press it well.

  • Add 15 grams of ricotta cheese,2 tbsp grated mozzarella cheese, remaining half portion of butter vermicelli mixture and press lightly.

  • Place Katori in a steamer and steam it. Remove in a plate and pour sugar syrup with a spoon.

  • Serve
