An authentic origination from the South of India, packed with vegetables and flavored with Indian spices makes a tangy, spicy side highly nutritious ready to be served with hot steamed rice.
In a kadai, add 2 tbsp tamarind pulp, 7 drumsticks, 1/4th cup diced capsicum, 1/4th cup diced brinjal, 1/4th cup chopped tomato, 1 tsp sambhar powder, 1/4th tsp salt, water as required, mix, cover and allow it to cook well.
Add 1/4th tsp haldi, cooked tur dal, mix and let it boil well.
In a heated pan, add 1 tsp oil.
Add 1/4th tsp rai, 1/4th tsp hing, 1 red chilly, 12 kadi patta leaves and saute for a minute.
Add tempering in the sambhar.
Add 1 tsp chopped coriander leaves, 2 tsp grated fresh coconut and mix to combine all ingredients.
Serve hot with rice.
