- Step 1 Heat a pan with 1.5 tsp oil, add 1 tsp grated garlic, 2 tbsp chopped yellow capsicum, 2 tbsp grated carrot, 2 tbsp chopped french beans, and 2 tbsp fresh peas.
- Step 2 Give it a Nestle Twist by adding grated ginger
- Step 3 Cook for about 34 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
- Step 4 Add 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp red chili flakes, and 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Step 5 Stir well and cook for another minute.
- Step 6 Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
- Step 7 In a separate pan, bring water to a boil, gradually add 1/2 cup rice flour,1/4 tsp salt to the boiling water, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
- Step 8 Cook for 23 minutes until the mixture forms a smooth dough.
- Step 9 Remove the dough from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Step 10 Once cool enough to handle, knead it into a soft, smooth dough.
- Step 11 Divide the dough into small portions and roll each into a ball. Flatten each ball into a small disc using your palms.
- Step 12 Place a spoonful of the cooked vegetable mixture in the center of each dough disc.
- Step 13 Gently fold the edges towards the center, pinching them together to form a modak shape.
- Step 14 Place the modaks in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper at even distance
- Step 15 Steam the modaks for 1012 minutes or until the dough turns soft
- Step 16 Serve the vegetable modaks warm with a side of chutney or your favorite dip for a delicious and healthy snack!
