Turnips are loaded with fiber and vitamins K, A, C, E, B1, B3, B5, B6, B2 and folate (one of the B vitamins), as well as minerals like manganese, potassium, magnesium, iron, calcium and copper. They are also a good source of phosphorus, omega-3 fatty acids and protein.
In a kadhai, heat 1 tsp oil.
Add 1/4 tsp chopped green chillies, 4 no. Kadi pattas and allow it to crackle.
Add 2 tbsp chopped onion, 1 tbsp chopped tomato and saute till it turns soft.
Add 1 tsp ginger garlic paste and saute well on low heat.
Add 1/8th tsp haldi, 1 tsp dhania powder, 1/4th tsp salt, 1/4th tsp sugar and mix well.
Add 1/4th cup chopped shalgum and saute.
Add water to adjust consistency.
Cover with a lid and allow to simmer.
Cook for a minute and then add 1 tsp chopped coriander leaves.
Switch off the heat and serve hot.
