Til ki chikki is a traditional sweet made in India, especially during the festival of makar sakaranti. It is a super delicious combo made of white sesame seeds, which are energy dense seeds and are not only a powerhouse of calcium but are also rich in protein, phosphorus, iron, fibre and various other nutrients. Furthermore, even jaggery is rich in iron and potassium. This dessert, when consumed in small portions, are super beneficial for kids as well as adults.
Heat 2 tsp ghee in a frying pan and add 3 tbsp jaggery powder. Stir it continuously till the jaggery melts.
Once a thick paste is formed on the pan, add 3 tbsp white til, mix effectively.
Once all the til is evenly covered with the jaggery paste, add 1/8th tsp elaichi powder, you will soon start getting a delicious aroma.
Making sure the elaichi powder is adequately mixed with the til, transfer the mixture on a flat surface.
Spread the desert evenly on the flat surface with a spatula.
Once it has cooled slightly, cut into desirable shape.
Serve at room temperature.
