Sprouted Appam Recipe

A very interesting and healthy addition to the regular South Indian Snack Appam. Sprouts contain plenty of Protein, Vitamins and Minerals. They are easily digestible & easy to make.

1/4 Cup(60.0 gm) Nestlé A+ Curd
3 Number(0.33 gm) Kadi Patta
1/4 Tsp(0.93 gm) Rai
1/4 Tsp(0.59 gm) Jeera
1/8 Tsp(0.35 gm) Hing
1/4 Tsp(1.0 gm) Salt
70 Ml(70.0 ml) Water
4 Tbsp(30.0 gm) Suji
1 Tbsp(8.0 ml) Oil
  • In a mixing bowl, add 3 tbsp suji, 1/4th cup Nestlé A+ Curd, 1/4th tsp salt, 2 tbsp chopped mint leaves, a little water and mix well.

  • In a pan, heat 1/2 tsp oil. Add 1/4th tsp rai, 1/4th tsp jeera, 1 tsp urad dal, 3 kaddi patta, 1/4th tsp hing and stir.

  • Add the mixture to the batter and mix well.

  • Take the mould and brush it with 1 tsp oil.

  • Add 1 spoon of moong sprouts in each mould.

  • Pour appam batter over it, cover and cook on medium flame

  • Flip and cook both side equally.

  • Serve hot
