South Indian Kadhi Recipe

South Indian kadhi is famous in south of India. Multiple combination of ingredients make this dal very nutritious and high in enegy, protein and vitamins. Combination of rice with this kadhi makes this recipe a complete meal.

2 Tsp(4.0 gm) Fresh Coconut(Grated)
1/2 Cup(30.0 gm) Nestlé A+ Curd
1 Tsp(2.0 gm) Green Chilli(Chopped)
4 No.(0.44 gm) Kadi Patta
1/2 Tsp(0.82 gm) Dhania Powder
1/4 Tsp(0.59 gm) Jeera
1/2 Tsp(2.0 gm) Rai
1/4 Tsp(1.0 gm) Salt
1 Tsp(4.0 gm) Ghee
As Required(150.0 ml) Water
  • Take 2 tsp of grated coconut, 1 tsp of chopped green chilli, 1 tsp chana dal, 1/2 tsp dhania powder and 1/4 tsp of jeera.

  • Then add water and grind it to a thick paste.

  • in a bowl, add 1/2 cup Nestlé A+ Curd and 1/4th tsp salt to taste.

  • Add the ground coconut paste and mix well.

  • In a kadhai, heat 1 tsp ghee.

  • Put 1/2 tsp rai and let it crackle.

  • Next, add 4 leaves of kadi patta and prepared mixture and mix well.

  • Add water, mix well.

  • Add the tempering to the kadhi, and serve hot with chapatti or rice.
