Shepu Moong Sabji Recipe

This delicious Maharashtrian staple dish is rich in folate and vitamin C. Additionally, flaxseeds boost immunity and provide a good intake of omega-3.

1 Cup(50.0 gm) Shepu(Chopped)
1/2 Tbsp(9.0 gm) Moong Dal
1 Tbsp(8.0 gm) Onion(Chopped)
1/2 Tsp(1.0 gm) Green Chilli(Chopped)
1/4 Tsp(1.0 gm) Salt
1 Tsp(3.0 ml) Oil
As Required(20.0 ml) Water
  • Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan and add 1 tbsp of chopped onion,1/2 tsp of chopped green chilli and saute.

  • Season with 1/4 tsp salt and mix well.

  • Now, add 1/2 tbsp moong dal, 1 cup of chopped shepu, water and mix well.

  • Cover the pan with a lid and cook until the dal cooks.

  • Sprinkle flax seeds for a nutritional twist.
