Sago Ladoo Recipe

Sago ladoo is a traditional sweet that is prepared mainly in North India during the festive seasons and as a part of fastings. The sabudana ladoo is prepared by roasting sabudana and coconut and mixed with powdered sugar and made into ladoos.....This recipe is very well accepted by kids and by all age group people too.......This recipe is not only taste best but also rich in iron,proteins, fiber,calories and good fats....!!!

Nutritional info

1/4 Cup(46.0 gm) Sabudana
4 Tbsp(41.0 gm) Jaggery Powder
2 Tbsp(30.0 gm) Dry Coconut
1 Tbsp(11.0 gm) Almond (Chopped)
1 Tbsp(15.0 gm) Ghee
  • Heat a frying pan at a low flame, add 1/4th cup sago and roast it.

  • Once it turns slightly brown, take off the flame and put it in a blender.

  • grind to get sago powder and keep aside.

  • Heat a frying pan at a low flame and add 2 tbsp grated coconut.

  • Dry roast until brown and set aside.

  • Heat a frying pan at a low flame, add 3 tbsp jaggery powder and 1/2 tsp ghee.

  • roast until jaggery is melted and set aside.

  • Heat a frying pan at a low flame, add 1/2 tsp ghee and 1 tbsp chopped almonds.

  • Roast till golden brown and keep aside.

  • Take a mixing bowl, add previously made 1/4th cup sago powder, 2 tbsp previously roasted coconut, 1 tbsp of previously roasted almond and 4 tbsp of previously made melted jaggery powder.

  • Making sure all the ingredients are distributed evenly, mix properly using a spoon.

  • Take a scoop in hand, make the ladoos and transfer to a serving platter.

  • Serve fresh.
