  • In a kadhai, heat 1.5 tsp oil.

  • Add 1/4 tsp each of chopped green chillies and tur dal and 1/2 tsp of urad dal,

  • Add black til for a nutritional twist.

  • Next, add 7 curry leaves, and 1 tbsp each of chopped onion and tomato, rice rava and mix well.

  • Add 1/4 tsp each of salt, haldi, red chilli powder and dry mango powder and mix well.

  • Add sufficient water, cover the pan with a lid and let it simmer on moderate heat to cook.

  • Finally, garnish the upma with 1 tsp each of coriander leaves and grated dry coconut.
