Rice Rava Upma Recipe

A recipe for a quick and easy breakfast making dish. Rice rava upma is a traditional south Indian brahmin dish with limited ingredients yet tasty and healthy delicacy filled with aroma and spiciness.

  • In a kadhai, heat 1.5 tsp oil.

  • Add 1/4th tsp each of chopped green chillies and tur dal and 1/2 tsp of urad dal,

  • Add black til for a nutritional twist.

  • Next, add 7curry leaves, and 1 tbsp each of chopped onion and tomato.

  • Add rice rava and 1/4th tsp salt and mix well.

  • Add 1/4th tsp each of haldi and dry mango powder.

  • Add sufficient water, cover the pan with a lid and let it simmer on moderate heat to cook.

  • Finally, garnish the upma with 1 tsp each of grated dry coconut and coriander leaves.
