  • In a mixing bowl, add 5 tbsp suji, 1/4th cup curd, 1/4th tsp salt, a little water and mix well.

  • In a pan, heat 1 tsp oil. Add 1/4th tsp rai, 1/4th tsp jeera, 3 kaddi patta, 1 tbsp chopped onions, 1/4th tsp hing and stir.

  • Add the tempering to the batter and mix well.

  • Take the mould and brush it with 1 tsp oil.

  • Fill the moulds with the batter and flatten evenly.

  • Cover and allow the steam to cook the appams.

  • Flip and cook both side equally.

  • Serve hot with sauce.
