Ragi Halwa Recipe

Ragi halwa is a fragrant, super delicious, melt in the mouth kind of desert. One of the all-time healthy dessert options, this dessert is enjoyed by all ages and is commonly made in South of India. It can be given to children as an afternoon snack or as a homemade treat after lunch or dinner. Ragi is rich in protein, calcium, phosphorus, iron and fibre. Ghee is good for health as well when taken in small portions.

2 Tbsp(12.0 gm) Ragi Flour

1/2 Cup(102.0 ml) Milk

1.5 Tbsp(16.0 gm) Jaggery (Powder)
ingredients
1 Tsp(3.0 gm) Almond (Chopped)
ingredients
1 Tsp(3.0 gm) Pista(Chopped)
ingredients
1/2 Tbsp(8.0 gm) Ghee
  • Take a thick bottomed pan and heat it on a low flame.

  • Add ½ tbsp ghee and 2 tbsp ragi flour.

  • Roast it well till its dry and looks brown.

  • Add ½ cup milk and mix well letting it thicken.

  • Add 1.5 tbsp jaggery powder. Mix well making sure the jaggery powder is mixed evenly with ragi flour.

  • To this halwa add 1 tsp chopped almonds and 1 tsp chopped pista and mix.

  • Serve warm.
