Ragi Dhokla Recipe

Ragi Dhokla is a steamed millet soft snack that is light on your tummy and makes up for an excellent tiffin snack. Ragi is a whole grain, gluten free and a staple in South India. It is packed with calcium, complex carbs and amino acids making it an ideal food from babies to all age groups.

1/2 Flour Cup(51.0 gm) Ragi
1/3 Cup(80.0 gm) Nestlé A+ Curd
1/4 Grated Tsp(0.47 gm) Ginger
1/8 Chopped Tsp(0.26 gm) Green Chilli
4.0 Number(0.44 gm) Kadi Patta
1/4 Tsp(0.93 gm) Rai
1/4 Tsp(1.0 gm) Fruit Salt
1/4 Tsp(1.0 gm) Salt
1.0 Tsp(3.0 ml) Oil
75.0 Ml(75.0 ml) Water
  • Take a mixing bowl to add 1/2 cup ragi flour and 1/3rd cup Nestlé A+ Curd.

  • Further add 1/4th tsp salt, 1/8th tsp green chillies, 1/4th tsp grated ginger and 1/4th tsp fruit salt.

  • Pour in a little water and mix to obtain the right consistency of the batter.

  • Grease a steel plate with oil, pour the batter on the plate and steam for 10 minutes.

  • After 10 minutes, insert a toothpick to see if cooked and transfer to a serving platter.

  • To make the tadka, heat 1 tsp oil in a frying pan.

  • Add 1/4th tsp rai and 4 kadi patta.

  • Pour the tadka over the cooked dhokla.

  • Garnish with coriander.

  • Serve hot with coriander chutney.
