Puffed Rice Chia Chikki Recipe

Puffed Rice or Murmura Chikki is a crispy and tasty chikki made using puffed rice and jaggery, enriched with the addition of superfoods like chia seeds. It is a must when celebrating Lohri.

1 Tbsp(11.0 gm) Chia Seeds
1/8 Powder Tsp(0.24 gm) Green Elaichi
2 Tsp(8.0 gm) Ghee
1/4 Powder Cup(42.0 gm) Jaggery
1.5 Cup(39.0 gm) Puffed Rice
  • In a pan , add 1 tsp ghee, 1/4th cup jaggery powder and mix well.

  • Stir continuously till jaggery melts completely.

  • Add 1/8th tsp cardamom powder.

  • Turn off flame, add 1.5 cup puffed rice and mix all ingredients till it binds well.

  • Grease a plate with 1 tsp ghee, add the puffed rice mixture and pat it with a spatula gently.

  • With a sharp knife, cut them into squares.

  • Serve.
