Potato Pulao Recipe

  • To start preparation, soak, and cook the basmati rice and keep aside.

  • Then, in a kadhai, add 2 tsp oil.

  • Add whole spices like 1 pod each of star anise, green elaichi, bay leaf, and clove.

  • Add 1/8th a cinnamon stick and 1/4th tsp jeera and let the spices roast well.

  • Add 1/2 tsp chopped garlic and 1/8th cup of julienned onion and saute well.

  • Next, add 1/4th cup of chopped potato and 1/4th tsp each of haldi, red chilli powder, and garam masala.

  • Sprinkle 1/2 tsp of chopped pudina leaves and 1/4th tsp salt.

  • Mix all the ingredients well, and add sufficient water.

  • Cover with a lid & cook.

  • When the potatoes are tender add the cooked basmati rice.

  • Mix well and serve hot with raita or salad.
