- Step 1 Heat a kadhai, add 2 tsp oil, 1 star anise, 1 green elaichi, 1 bay leaf, 1 clove, 1/8 cinnamon stick, 1/4 tsp jeera and roast them
- Step 2 Add 1/2 tsp chopped garlic, 1/8 cup chopped onion and saute until soft
- Step 3 Add 1/4 cup chopped potato and season with 1/4 tsp each of haldi, red chili powder and garam masala.
- Step 4 Mix everything and cook for a minute
- Step 5 Add 1 tsp chopped pudina leaves and 1/4 tsp salt for taste
- Step 6 Mix everything and pour in some water
- Step 7 Cover the pan and cook until potatoes soften
- Step 8 Add the cooked basmati rice and mix well
- Step 9 Serve with raita or plain Nestlé A+ Curd
