Posto Chicken Recipe

Posto chicken is a traditional Bengali delicacy prepared with succulent chicken pieces in poppy seeds gravy that serves as a perfect side dish to be paired with rotis or rice to complete any meal.

1.0 Chopped Tsp(2.0 gm) Green Chilli
1/2 Tbsp(10.0 gm) Ginger Garlic Paste
1/2 Tsp(0.74 gm) Garam Masala
1/2 Powder Tsp(1.0 gm) Red Chilly
1/2 Tsp(1.0 gm) Haldi
2.0 Tbsp(20.0 gm) Khas Khas
0.13 Tsp(0.32 gm) Saunf
0.13 Tsp(0.37 gm) Kalonji
1/2 Tsp(2.0 gm) Sugar
1/4 Tsp(1.0 gm) Salt
1.0 Tsp(3.0 ml) Mustard Oil
50.0 Ml(50.0 ml) Water
  • For the vegetable

    In a pan, heat 1 tsp mustard oil.

  • Add 1/4 tsp saunf and kalonji, 3 tbsp tomato puree, 2 tbsp posto paste, 1/2 tbsp ginger garlic paste and saute.

  • Add 1 tsp chopped green chilli, 1/2 tsp red chilly powder, 1/2 tsp haldi, 1/2 tsp garam masala, 1/4 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp sugar. Mix well.

  • Add water, 5 pieces chicken breast and mix well.

  • Cover and allow to cook until well cooked.

  • Serve hot with rotis or rice.
