Rasam is a heart warming soup preparation from south India, made by using tamarind juice, pepper and other spices. It has a distinct sour, peppery and chilly taste. It helps prevent constipation and is a power house of vitamins and minerals.
Heat 1/4th tsp ghee in a kadai, add 1/4th tsp rai, 4 kadi patta, 1 tsp black pepper powder, 1 tbsp tamarind pulp, 1/8th tsp hing, 1/2 tsp rasam powder, water and simmer it.
Add 1 tsp coriander leaves and 1/4th tsp salt.
Serve it hot with rice.
