Peanut Modak Recipe

This easy-to-make Peanut Modak recipe is suitable for anyone who craves a Modak during the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. A traditional Maharashtrian speciality, rice flour pocket with a peanut filling loved by all.

1 Tsp(4.0 gm) Raisin
1/4 Cup(45.0 gm) Rice Flour
50 Ml(50.0 ml) Water
1/8 Tsp(0.54 gm) Salt
1/8 Powder Tsp(0.24 gm) Green Elaichi
1/4 Powder Cup(42.0 gm) Jaggery
1/2 Grated Cup(20.0 gm) Fresh Coconut
3 Powder Tbsp(29.0 gm) Peanuts
  • For Filling

    In a pan, add 1/4th cup grated fresh coconut, 3 tbsp peanut powder, 1/4th cup jaggery powder,1 tsp raisins and 1/8th tsp green elaichi powder.

  • Mix all ingredients well till jaggery melts.

  • For Dough

    In a kadai boil water as required and add 1/8th tsp salt, 1/4th cup rice flour and mix well

  • Turn off the heat and knead a soft dough.

  • Allow it to cool, take a small portion, round it into a ball and press it from sides.

  • Prepare the rest, transfer the modak to the steamer.

  • Allow it to steam for 15 min.

  • Delicious modak is ready to serve.
