Alu wadi is a savory dish heavily made with colocasia leaves which gives you health benefits along with the taste. This recipe is a popular maharashtrian delicacy. It is very light and easy to make and nutritious dish.
In a mixing bowl, add 1/2 cup besan,1 tbsp rice flour, 1/2 tsp red chilly powder, 1/2 tsp haldi,1/2 tsp dhania powder.
Following this add 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste, 1/2 tsp tamarind paste,1/2 tsp salt, 2 tsp jaggery powder and 1/2 tsp oil.
Add 30 ml water and mix well.
On a cutting board place alu leaf and spread the mixture on the leaf. Fold the leaves and spread the mixture on the folded leaves. Roll the leaves and place it in a steamer. Close with lid and steam.
Cut the alu wadi into slices.
In a pan add 1 tsp oil. Place the alu wadis and shallow fry it. Flip and fry.
