Palak Vada Pav Recipe

Mumbai's very own burger, Mumbai-style vada pav. The vada pav recipe is made of spicy potato, and spinach filling deep fried in a gram flour batter. It is high in calories, making it an energy-dense snack or breakfast option.

1/3 Boiled Mashed Cup(42.0 gm) Potato
1/8 Tsp(0.56 gm) Salt
15 Ml(15.0 ml) Water
1.5 Tbsp(14.0 gm) Besan
2 Number(95.0 gm) Pav
1 Tsp(3.0 ml) Oil
1/4 Tsp(1.0 gm) Salt
1/4 Tsp(0.58 gm) Ajwain
1/2 Tsp(0.48 gm) Chaat Masala
1/4 Tsp(0.38 gm) Red Chilly
1/4 Tsp(0.6 gm) Haldi
1/4 Tsp(0.59 gm) Jeera
1/4 Chopped Cup(14.0 gm) Palak
  • Start by making besan batter, take 1.5 tbsp besan with sufficient water, and 1/8 tsp salt.

  • Mix well, making sure no lumps are formed.

  • Now for the vada mixture, take a mixing bowl and add boiled potatoes, 1/4 cup chopped palak, 1/4 tsp chaat masala, 1/4 tsp jeera, 1/4 tsp haldi, 1/4 tsp red chilli powder, 1/4 tsp ajwain, 1/4 tsp salt.

  • Using your hand, mash and mix properly.

  • Making sure all the ingredients are evenly distributed, make vadas from the mixture and keep aside.

  • Heat oil for deep frying, dip prepared vada into besan batter and deep fry the vadas.

  • Fry till its nicely cooked.

  • Add prepared vada to pav and serve hot.
