Orange Zarda Rice Recipe

Zarda or sweet rice, a popular North Indian rich delicacy known for it's royal flavors and taste. A generous amount of ghee, sugar, saffron, orange and nuts makes the dish aromatic and delicious for any occasion.

40 Ml(40.0 ml) Water
1/4 Cup(26.0 ml) Nestlé A+ Milk
1/8 Cup(30.0 ml) Orange Juice
2 Diced Tbsp(33.0 gm) Orange
2 Tsp(8.0 gm) Ghee
5 Strand(0.5 gm) Kesar
1 Number(0.23 gm) Green Elaichi
5 Number(4.0 gm) Raisin
2 Chopped Tsp(5.0 gm) Almond
1 Chopped Tsp(2.0 gm) Cashewnut
1 Tbsp(13.0 gm) Sugar
2 Tbsp(26.0 gm) Rice
  • Wash and cook 2 tbsp rice and keep aside.

  • Soak 5 no. kesar strand in Nestlé A+ Milk and keep aside.

  • In a pan, heat 2 tsp ghee.

  • To that add, 1 green elaichi, 5 raisins, 2 tsp chopped almond, 1 tsp chopped cashew and stir.

  • Then add 1/8th cup Nestlé A+ Milk, kesar Nestlé A+ Milk, 1 tbsp sugar and allow it to simmer.

  • When it starts to simmer, add cooked rice, 1/8 cup orange juice and mix well.

  • Top with 2 tbsp diced orange.

  • Serve hot.
