Onion Coconut Uttapam Recipe

This uttapam not only has proteins but good fat too from the fresh coconut used. It is a perfect alternative for kids who dont eat coconut chutney!

1.0 Tbsp(13.0 gm) Rice
1.0 Tsp(4.0 gm) Urad Dal
2.0 Chopped Tsp(5.0 gm) Onion
1/2 Chopped Tsp(0.46 gm) Coriander Leaves
1.0 Grated Tsp(2.0 gm) Fresh Coconut
0.13 Tsp(0.56 gm) Salt
1/2 Tsp(2.0 ml) Oil
20.0 Ml(20.0 ml) Water
  • Prepreparation

    Soak 3 tbsp rice and 1 tbsp black urad dal seperately , blend it into a batter and ferment it overnight.

  • Preparation

    In a mixing bowl, add the batter, 2 tsp chopped onion, 1 tsp grated fresh coconut, 1/2 tsp chopped coriander leaves, 1/8th tsp salt and mix it well.

  • Take a frying pan, spread 1/2 tsp oil.

  • Pour the batter and spread it.

  • Cover & cook it.

  • flip the uttapam and cook on the other side.

  • Serve it hot.
