Mushoor Dal Khichudi Recipe

Mushoor Dal Khichdi is a simple rice and lentil dish that is both tasty and simple to make. The easily digestible rice and masoor dal are nutritious and easy to digest.

1.0 Tbsp(13.0 gm) Whole Masoor
1.0 Tbsp(17.0 gm) Moong Dal
2.0 Chopped Tbsp(25.0 gm) Tomato
2.0 Chopped Tbsp(16.0 gm) Onion
1.0 Tsp(5.0 gm) Ginger Garlic Paste
1/2 Chopped Tsp(0.46 gm) Coriander Leaves
1/4 Tsp(0.41 gm) Dhania Powder
1/4 Powder Tsp(0.54 gm) Red Chilly
1/4 Tsp(0.6 gm) Haldi
1/4 Tsp(1.0 gm) Salt
1.0 Tsp(3.0 ml) Oil
200.0 Ml(200.0 ml) Water
  • Heat 1 tsp oil in a pressure cooker, add 2 tbsp chopped onion, 1 tsp ginger garlic paste and sauté.

  • Once the onions start turning slightly transparent, add 2 tbsp chopped tomato and mix.

  • Once the tomatoes are softened, add 1/4th tsp haldi, 1/4th tsp dhania powder, 1/4th tsp red chilli powder and mix.

  • Add the previously soaked 1/8th cup rice, previously soaked 1 tbsp moong dal, previously soaked 1 tbsp whole masoor, required amount of water, 1/4th tsp salt and 1/2 tsp chopped coriander leaves.

  • Making sure all the ingredients are mixed properly cover the cooker.

  • Once cooked, take off the flame and transfer to a serving platter.

  • Garnish with coriander.

  • Serve hot.
