Moong Dal Payasam (Green Gram Dal Kheer) Recipe

Moong dal payasam is delicious and very famous aromatic desert of South India. Its a perfect blend of coconut Nestlé A+ Milk, moong dal and jaggery. This recipe is a wholesome recipe for kids as it is rich in proteins, iron and good fats that is ideal for the growth of the child.

1/2 Cup(71.0 ml) Coconut Milk
1.0 Tbsp(17.0 gm) Moong Dal
1.0 Grated Tbsp(3.0 gm) Dry Coconut
2.0 Chopped Tsp(4.0 gm) Cashewnut
5.0 Small(2.0 gm) Raisin
2.0 Powder Tbsp(21.0 gm) Jaggery
2.0 Tsp(8.0 gm) Ghee
150.0 Ml(150.0 ml) Water
  • In a kadhai, heat 2 tsp ghee, add 2 tbsp jaggery powder and water. Stir well till the jaggery melts completely.

  • Add boiled moong dal, 1/2 cup coconut milk and 1.5 tsp chopped cashew nuts.

  • Add 5 raisins and 1 tbsp grated dry coconut.

  • Boil it.

  • Serve hot.
