Magaj Jaggery Chikki Recipe

Antioxidant-rich seeds bind well with jaggery and make up for a healthy in-between meal snack. It is high in magnesium and fibre which are very vital for our body.

1 Tbsp(12.0 gm) Pumpkin Seeds
1 Tbsp(10.0 gm) Sunflower Seeds
1/8 Powder Tsp(0.24 gm) Green Elaichi
1/4 Powder Cup(42.0 gm) Jaggery
2 Tsp(8.0 gm) Ghee
  • Dry roast 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds, 1 tbsp sunflower seeds and 2 tsp black sesame seeds for 5 mins on low flame.

  • Cool and partially crush it.

  • In a pan , add 1 tsp ghee, 1/4th cup jaggery powder and mix well.

  • Stir continuously till jaggery melts completely.

  • Add 1/8th tsp elaichi powder.

  • Turn off flame, add the crushed seeds mixture and mix all ingredients till it binds well.

  • Grease a plate with 1 tsp ghee, add the mix seeds mixture and pat it with a spatula gently.

  • With a sharp knife, cut them into squares.

  • Serve.
