Methi Papad Sabji Recipe

A delectable dish from Rajasthani cuisine, Methi Papad Sabji is prepared using papad and methi seeds stewed in a sweet and spicy gravy. It is a simple and quick meal that pairs well with roti, paratha or rice. The use of methi seeds and jaggery provides a good source of iron, vitamins and minerals.

1.0 Powder Tbsp(10.0 gm) Jaggery
2.0 Chopped Tsp(2.0 gm) Coriander Leaves
1/4 Tsp(0.41 gm) Dhania Powder
1/4 Powder Tsp(0.54 gm) Red Chilly
1/4 Tsp(0.59 gm) Jeera
1/4 Tsp(0.58 gm) Ajwain
1/4 Tsp(0.6 gm) Haldi
1/4 Tsp(0.74 gm) Hing
1/4 Tsp(1.0 gm) Salt
1/2 Tsp(2.0 ml) Oil
15.0 Ml(15.0 ml) Water
  • Heat kadhai, add 2 tsp oil, 1/4th tsp jeera, 1/4th tsp hing & stir.

  • Then add 3/4th cup methi seeds, 1/4th tsp red chilly powder, 1/4th tsp ajwain, 1/4th tsp haldi , 1/4th tsp dhania powder, 1/4th tsp salt, mix well.

  • Add 1 tbsp jaggery, water, add small pieces of 2 papad & mix well.

  • Add 1 tbsp coriander leaves, kasuri methi (Nutritional Twist) & cook for 3 minutes.

  • Serve hot.
