Masala Uttapam Recipe

Masala Uttapam is a variety of uttapam which is made lots of great vegetables. The batter used in making uttapam is same that we use for idli and dosa. It is very easy to make and adds variation to our regular uttapams.

1 Tbsp(13.0 gm) Rice
1 Tsp(4.0 gm) Urad Dal
1 Tbsp(10.0 gm) Capsicum(Chopped)
1 Tbsp(8.0 gm) Onion(Chopped)
1 Tbsp(13.0 gm) Tomato(Chopped)
1/2 Tsp(0.46 gm) Coriander Leaves(Chopped)
1/8 Tsp(0.27 gm) Red Chilly(Powder)
1/8 Tsp(0.56 gm) Salt
1/2 Tsp(2.0 ml) Oil
As Required(20.0 ml) Water
  • Prepreparation

    Soak 1 tbsp rice and 1 tsp black urad dal seperately , blend it into a batter and ferment it overnight.

  • Preparation

    In a mixing bowl, add the uttapam batter, 1 tbsp chopped onion, 1 tbsp chopped tomato, 1 tbsp chopped capsicum, 1/2 tsp coriander leaves and mix it well.

  • Add 1/8th tsp salt to it and mix it well.

  • Take a frying pan and spread 1/2 tsp oil.

  • Pour a spoonful of the batter and spread it on the pan.

  • Sprinkle 1/8th tsp red chilly powder.

  • Cover & cook the uttapam.

  • Flip the uttapam and cook it on the other side.

  • Serve hot.
