Makai Paneer Recipe

Makai paneer is a semi-dry, north Indian-style vegetable that is delicious and bursting with flavour. It goes well with parathas topped with ghee or simply with rotis. Paneer is high in protein and calcium, making it a satiating meal.

1/2 Cube Cup(85.0 gm) Paneer
2.0 Tbsp(21.0 gm) Sweet Corn
1.0 Chopped Tbsp(8.0 gm) Onion
1/2 Chopped Tsp(1.0 gm) Green Chilli
4.0 Number(5.0 gm) Cashewnut
1/2 Tsp(1.0 gm) Jeera
1.0 Tsp(0.34 gm) Kasuri Methi
1/4 Powder Tsp(0.54 gm) Red Chilly
1/4 Tsp(0.6 gm) Haldi
1/4 Tsp(1.0 gm) Salt
2.0 Tsp(7.0 ml) Oil
30.0 Ml(30.0 ml) Water
  • Take a nonstick fry pan and heat it over a low flame.

  • Add 1 tsp oil and 1/2 cup paneer. Saute till golden brown then keep aside

  • Take another nonstick pan.

  • Saute 1 tsp oil with 1/2 tsp jeera and kaju paste.

  • To this mix add 1 tbsp onion, 1/2 tsp green chilli, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp red chilly powder, 1/4 tsp haldi, 1 tsp kasuri methi and boiled corn. Saute this effectively.

  • Add 20 ml water to this dry mixture and let it simmer.

  • Add the previously fried paneer and cook until the desired consistency is obtained.

  • Garnish with coriander leaves.

  • Serve hot with chapati.
