Maa Chole di Dal Recipe

This delicious Indian dal goes very well with roti and rice. Its filed with flavor and protein.

1/8 Cup(26.0 gm) Black Urad Dal

1 Tbsp(13.0 gm) Chana Dal

1/4 Cup(28.0 gm) Onion (Chopped)

1/4 Cup(39.0 gm) Tomato (Chopped)
ingredients
1 Tsp(2.0 gm) Ginger Paste

1 Tsp(2.0 gm) Garlic(Chopped)

1/2 Tsp(1.0 gm) Red Chilly (Powder)

1/4 Tsp(0.37 gm) Garam Masala

1/2 Tsp(0.46 gm) Coriander Leaves (Chopped)

1/8 Tsp(0.37 gm) Hing

1/4 Tsp(1.0 gm) Salt

1 Tbsp(15.0 gm) Ghee

As Required(100.0 ml) Water
  • Soak and pressure cook black urad dal and chana dal. Keep aside.

  • In a kadhai,melt 1 tbsp ghee.

  • To that, add 1/4th cup chopped onion and sauté till translucent

  • Then add 1 tsp chopped garlic, 1/8th tsp hing, 1 tsp ginger paste, 1/4 cup chopped tomato and mix well.

  • Once the tomatoes have shrunk, add 1/4th tsp garam masala, 1/2 tsp red chilli powder and mix well.

  • Add water as required, then add the cooked dals, 1/4th tsp salt, 1/2 tsp chopped coriander leaves and mix well.

  • Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves.
