Khatta Moong (Green Moong in Curd Curry) Recipe

Khatta moong is a quick and easy Gujarati sabzi recipe. Khatta Mung is a delicious preparation of green moong beans what is cooked and simmered in a spicy yogurt curry.

1/2 Cup(121.0 gm) Nestlé A+ Curd
2 Tsp(5.0 gm) Besan
1/2 Tsp(0.46 gm) Coriander Leaves(Chopped)
4 No.(0.44 gm) Kadi Patta
1/4 Tsp(0.41 gm) Dhania Powder
1/4 Tsp(0.54 gm) Red Chilly Powder
1/4 Tsp(0.6 gm) Haldi
1/8 Tsp(0.37 gm) Hing
1/4 Tsp(0.93 gm) Rai
1/4 Tsp(1.0 gm) Salt
1 Tsp(3.0 ml) Oil
As Required(50.0 ml) Water
  • Take a mixing bowl to add 1/2 cup Nestlé A+ Curd, 2 tsp besan, 1/4th tsp red chilli powder, 1/4th tsp haldi, 1/4th tsp dhania powder and mix well. Keep aside.

  • Heat 1 tsp oil in a frying pan at a low flame, add 1/4th tsp rai, 1/8th tsp hing, 4 kadi patta, 2 tbsp of previously cooked whole moong and mix well.

  • Further, pour in the previously made Nestlé A+ Curd mixture, a little water and mix well.

  • Sprinkle 1/4th tsp salt, 1/2 tsp chopped coriander leaves and stir well.

  • Garnish with coriander leaves.

  • Serve hot with chapatti.
