Khatta Moong (Green Moong in Curd Curry) Recipe

Khatta moong is a quick and easy Gujarati sabzi recipe. Khatta Mung is a delicious preparation of green moong beans what is cooked and simmered in a spicy yogurt curry.

  • Take 2 tbsp whole moong dal, soak and pressure cook it. Keep aside.

  • Take a mixing bowl to add 1/2 cup curd, 2 tsp besan, 1/4th tsp red chilli powder, 1/4th tsp haldi, 1/4th tsp dhania powder and mix well. Keep aside.

  • Heat 1 tsp oil in a frying pan at a low flame, add 1/4th tsp rai, 1/8th tsp hing, 4 kadi patta, 2 tbsp of previously cooked whole moong and mix well.

  • Further, pour in the previously made curd mixture, a little water and mix well.

  • Sprinkle 1/4th tsp salt, 1/2 tsp chopped coriander leaves and stir well.

  • Garnish with coriander leaves.

  • Serve hot with chapatti.
