Jeera Sweet Potato Kulcha Recipe

A flavoursome Jeera sweet potato kulcha is an innovative twist on the traditional kulcha that includes a spicy sweet potato filling and adds plenty of flavour and nutritional benefits. Jeera also aids digestion. Green or sweet chutneys are ideal accompaniments.

3.0 Tbsp(26.0 gm) Wheat Flour (Whole)
2.0 Boiled Mashed Tbsp(33.0 gm) Sweet Potato
1.0 Tbsp(7.0 gm) Maida
1.0 Tbsp(14.0 gm) Nestlé A+ Curd
2.0 Tsp(8.0 ml) Nestlé A+ Milk
1/2 Tsp(1.0 gm) Jeera
1/4 Chopped Tsp(0.23 gm) Coriander Leaves
1/4 Tsp(1.0 gm) Green Chilli Paste
1/8 Tsp(0.25 gm) Dry Mango Powder
1/4 Tsp(1.0 gm) Salt
2.0 Tsp(8.0 gm) Ghee
  • Crush 1/2 tsp jeera

  • For the filling

  • In a bowl, add 2 tbsp mashed sweet potato, 1/8th tsp salt, 1/4th tsp green chilli paste, 1/4th tsp dry mango powder, 1/2 tsp crushed jeera, 1/4th chopped coriander leaves and mix well.

  • For Kulcha

  • In a bowl, take 1/4th cup whole wheat flour, 1 tbsp maida, 1 tbsp Nestlé A+ Curd, 1 tbsp Nestlé A+ Milk and 1/8 tsp salt.

  • Knead it into a soft dough

  • Rest the dough for sometime.

  • Roll the dough and fill the stuffing into the rolled dough.

  • Fold and seal it.

  • Roll it into a kulcha

  • Place the kulcha over a pan

  • Roast both the sides of the kulcha with 1 tsp ghee.
