Ghia/Lauki (Bottlegourd) Curry Recipe

1/2 Chopped Cup(52.0 gm) Bottle Gourd
1/4 Chopped Cup(28.0 gm) Onion
1/4 Chopped Cup(39.0 gm) Tomato
1/2 Chopped Tsp(1.0 gm) Garlic
1/4 Powder Tsp(0.54 gm) Red Chilly
1/4 Tsp(0.41 gm) Dhania Powder
1/4 Tsp(0.59 gm) Jeera
1/4 Tsp(0.93 gm) Rai
0.13 Tsp(0.3 gm) Haldi
0.13 Tsp(0.56 gm) Salt
1.0 Tsp(3.0 ml) Oil
50.0 Ml(50.0 ml) Water
  • Boil 1/2 cup chopped bottle gourd and keep aside.

  • Take a blender, add 1/4th cup chopped onion, 1/4th cup chopped tomato, 1/8th tsp haldi, 1/4th tsp red chilli powder, 1/4th tsp dhania powder, 1/2 tsp chopped garlic and blend well into a paste and keep aside.

  • Take a fresh kadhai and add 1 tsp oil in it.

  • When the oil is heated, add 1/4th tsp rai, 1/4th tsp jeera, 4 kadhi patta, blended paste, a little water and mix well.

  • When the gravy begins to simmer, add 1/2 cup chopped bottle gourd and stir.

  • Season with 1/8th tsp salt and mix again.

  • Cover the kadhai and allow to cook well.

  • Serve hot with rice.
