Dal Sundari Recipe

Dal is one of the best known sources of proteins for vegetarians. This is a simple and wholesome dish as we get the goodness of so many pulses in a single bowl of Sundari dal. Served with phuilka, parantha or rice.

2 Tsp(10.0 gm) Ginger Garlic Paste

1/4 Tsp(0.59 gm) Jeera

1/4 Tsp(0.93 gm) Rai

1/4 Tsp(0.53 gm) Dry Mango Powder

1/4 Tsp(0.38 gm) Red Chilly Powder

1/2 Tsp(2.0 ml) Oil

As Required(70.0 ml) Water
  • In a pan, heat 1/2 tsp oil.

  • Add 1/4th tsp each of mustard seeds and cumin seeds, and let it crackle.

  • Add 1 tbsp each of chopped onions and tomatoes, 2 tsp ginger garlic paste, and 1/8th cup of chopped spinach and saute well.

  • Add 1/4th tsp each of turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and mango powder and mix in the spices.

  • Now, add cooked red gram dal, and mix well.

  • Serve hot with steamed rice.
