Dal Lucknowi Recipe

Dal is one of the best known sources of proteins for vegetarians. This is a simple and wholesome dish as we get the goodness of this pulse in a single bowl of lucknowi dal. Served with phuilka, parantha or rice.

1 Tsp(4.0 ml) Lemon Juice

1 Tbsp(14.0 gm) Cream

1/4 Tsp(0.6 gm) Haldi

1/4 Tsp(0.53 gm) Dry Mango Powder

  • In a pan, heat 1 tsp oil, add cumin seeds and let it crackle.

  • Add 1/2 tsp each of chopped green chillies and 1 tsp garlic, 1/8th tsp of hing and 1/4 tsp [mango powder, 1.5 tbsp of chopped onion and saute well.

  • To this, add 1/4th tsp each of salt and turmeric powder, cooked toor dal, 1.5 tbsp chopped tomatoes and mix all the ingredients well.

  • Finally, add 1 tsp lemon juice, 1 tbsp fresh cream and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

  • Serve hot.
