A basic combination of cereal and pulses, dal khichdi is a traditional Indian dish. This nutritious, one-pot meal is pressure cooked all at once and is gut-friendly.

Heat 1 tsp ghee in a pressure cooker or pressure pan.
Add 1/2 tsp jeera, 1/4th tsp rai, 9 leaves of kadi patta,1/2 tsp Haldi and saute.
Now add 2 tbsp tur dal,2 tbsp rice, and 1/4 tsp salt.
Add the required quantity of water and mix well.
Cover the cooker with its lid and cook for up to 3 whistles.
Serve hot, garnished with some grated paneer for a nutritional twist.
