Couscous Upma Recipe

Couscous is a savoury and delicious dish with many vegetables packed with flavour. Couscous is a more nutritious alternative to semolina, which contains complex carbohydrates and other nutrients.

2.0 Chopped Tbsp(16.0 gm) Onion
2.0 Chopped Tbsp(14.0 gm) French Beans
1.0 Chopped Tbsp(12.0 gm) Carrot
1.0 Chopped Tbsp(10.0 gm) Green Capsicum
1.0 Chopped Tsp(2.0 gm) Green Chilli
1.0 Chopped Tsp(2.0 gm) Garlic
4.0 Number(0.44 gm) Kadi Patta
1.0 Tsp(4.0 gm) Urad Dal
1.0 Tsp(4.0 ml) Lemon Juice
1/4 Tsp(0.93 gm) Rai
1/2 Tsp(2.0 gm) Salt
1.0 Tbsp(8.0 ml) Oil
100.0 Ml(100.0 ml) Water
  • Heat kadhai on a low flame.

  • Add 1 tbsp oil, 1/4 tsp rai and allow to crackle.

  • Now add 1 tsp chopped garlic, 2 tbsp chopped onion, 1 tsp chopped green chilli, 4 no. kadi patta, 1 tsp urad dal & saute well.

  • Then add 1.5 tbsp each of chopped french beans, 1 TBSP chopped capsicum and chopped carrot, then, add 1/2 tsp salt and saute well.

  • Put a lid on the kadhai and let it cook for 23 mins .

  • Now add cooked couscous & mix it well, Then add 1 tsp lemon juice, mix it well and let it cook for 2 mins.

  • Serve hot.
