This extremely easy maharashtrian usal is perfect for tiffin lunch. It is full of indian spices and tons of protein.
The first step, soak 1/2 cup of chana and cook until soft.
Then in a pan, heat 2 tsp oil.
Add 1/8th tsp mustard seeds and let it crackle.
Add 2 tsp ginger garlic paste, 2.5 tbsp of chopped onion and 2.5 tbsp of chopped tomatoes.
Saute the ingredients well.
Next, add 1/4th tsp haldi, 1/2 tsp each of jeera and dhania powder,1/4th tsp garam masala powder and 1/4th tsp red chilli powder.
Mix well and add a little water.
Then, add the cooked chana.
Add 1/8th tsp salt, cover with a lid and cook.
Finally, garnish with 1 tsp chopped coriander leaves and sprinkle white til for a nutritional twist.
