Chana Usal Dry (Bengal Gram Dry Vegetable) Recipe

This extremely easy maharashtrian usal is perfect for tiffin lunch. It is full of indian spices and tons of protein.

1/8 Tsp(0.46 gm) Rai

1/4 Tsp(0.44 gm) Jeera Powder

2 Tsp(10.0 gm) Ginger Garlic Paste

  • The first step, soak 1/2 cup of chana and cook until soft.

  • Then in a pan, heat 2 tsp oil.

  • Add 1/8th tsp mustard seeds and let it crackle.

  • Add 2 tsp ginger garlic paste, 2.5 tbsp of chopped onion and 2.5 tbsp of chopped tomatoes.

  • Saute the ingredients well.

  • Next, add 1/4th tsp haldi, 1/2 tsp each of jeera and dhania powder,1/4th tsp garam masala powder and 1/4th tsp red chilli powder.

  • Mix well and add a little water.

  • Then, add the cooked chana.

  • Add 1/8th tsp salt, cover with a lid and cook.

  • Finally, garnish with 1 tsp chopped coriander leaves and sprinkle white til for a nutritional twist.
