Bread Upma Recipe

Bread Upma is a delicious & spicy snack made by cooking bread in a tempering made of onion, tomato, green chillies, curry leaves and spices.

2.0 3"(46.0 gm) Brown Wheat Bread
1.0 Chopped Tbsp(13.0 gm) Tomato
1.0 Chopped Tsp(0.92 gm) Coriander Leaves
1/4 Powder Tsp(0.54 gm) Red Chilly
1/2 Tsp(2.0 gm) Chana Dal
1/2 Tsp(2.0 gm) Urad Dal
5.0 Number(0.55 gm) Kadi Patta
1/2 Tsp(2.0 gm) Rai
1/4 Tsp(0.6 gm) Haldi
1/4 Tsp(1.0 gm) Salt
2.0 Tsp(7.0 ml) Oil
  • In a kadai, add 2 tsp oil, 1/2 tsp rai, 1/2 tsp urad dal, 1/2 tsp chana dal, 5 kadi patta and allow to crackle.

  • Now add 2 chopped brown wheat bread slices, 1/4th tsp haldi, 1/4th tsp red chili powder, 1/4th tsp salt.

  • Roast untill it turns crispy and crush with hands.

  • Add 1 tbsp chopped tomato and 1 tsp chopped coriander leaves.

  • Mix and serve.
