Besan Coconut Modak Recipe

This besan modak can be made with minimum ingredients and in no time. These Besan Modaks are ideal fix for homemade sweets on busy festive days. They are great alternative to traditional modaks as these take lesser time and effort while tasting equally delicious.

1/4 Grated Cup(12.0 gm) Fresh Coconut
1/8 Powder Tsp(0.24 gm) Green Elaichi
2 Tsp(15.0 gm) Ghee
2 Powder Tbsp(22.0 gm) Sugar
5 Number(5.0 gm) Almond
1/2 Cup(40.0 gm) Besan
  • Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a pan, then add 1/3rd cup besan and roast on low heat.

  • Keep roasting till besan turn golden and aromatic.

  • Add 1/2 tbsp chopped almond, 1/8th tsp elaichi powder, and 2 tbsp grated coconut into besan and mix well.

  • Allow it to completely cool.

  • Then, add 2 tbsp sugar powder and knead to make a dough.

  • Take a small portion and put it inside the modak mould.

  • Shape into modaks and serve.
