Beet Bajra Khichdi Recipe

1.5 Chopped Tbsp(17.0 gm) Beet Root
200 Ml(200.0 ml) Water
1 Tsp(3.0 ml) Oil
1/4 Tsp(1.0 gm) Salt
1/4 Tsp(0.6 gm) Haldi
1/2 Powder Tsp(1.0 gm) Red Chilly
1/4 Tsp(0.59 gm) Jeera
1 Tbsp(10.0 gm) Peas
1 Chopped Tbsp(3.0 gm) Coriander Leaves
1 Chopped Tbsp(13.0 gm) Tomato
2 Chopped Tbsp(16.0 gm) Onion
1/8 Cup(26.0 ml) Bajra
  • In a pan, heat 1 tsp oil, add 1/4 tsp jeera and allow to crackle.

  • Add 2 tbsp of chopped onion and saute till golden brown.

  • Then, add 1 tbsp of chopped tomato, 1 tbsp of green peas and 1.5 tbsp chopped beetroot and mix well.

  • Add 1/2 tsp red chilly powder, 1/4 tsp each of haldi and salt and saute.

  • Next, add cooked bajra and 1 tbsp of chopped coriander leaves on top and mix well.

  • Cover the vessel and allow to cook.

  • Serve hot with your choice of accompaniments.
