Bean Pea Soup Recipe

Bean Pea Soup is a very warm, comforting and delicious soup and easy to make at home. This soup is an innovative recipe, based on African cowpea stews.

1/4 Boiled Cup(39.0 gm) Peas
200 Ml(200.0 ml) Water
1 Tsp(2.0 ml) Olive Oil
1/4 Tsp(1.0 gm) Salt
1/8 Powder Tsp(0.36 gm) Black Pepper
1/4 Tsp(0.3 gm) Mixed Herbs
1/2 Chopped Tsp(1.0 gm) Garlic
1 Chopped Tbsp(8.0 gm) Onion
2 Tbsp(35.0 gm) Chawli
  • Soak 2 tbsp chawli overnight, pressure cook it and keep aside.

  • Boil 1/4th cup fresh peas and keep aside.

  • Heat 1 tsp olive oil in a frying pan at a low flame and add 1 tbsp diced onion, 1/2 tsp chopped garlic and sauté.

  • Once the onions start turning translucent, add the previously cooked chawli and fresh peas, add water as required, stir well.

  • Once the soup starts simmering, add 1/8th tsp black pepper powder, 1/4th tsp salt, 1/8th tsp mixed herbs, and mix properly.

  • Pour the soup in a blender and blend till a soup like consistency is obtained.

  • Serve hot.
