A popular Maharashtrian delicacy is usually served hot. It makes a delicious evening snack when combined with chutney and green chillies.

For vada batter
In a mixing bowl, add 4 tbsp besan, 1/4th tsp ajwain, 1/4th tsp salt, 1/4th tsp red chilly powder, 1/4th tsp haldi and water.
Mix it well to avoid lump formation.
For vada mixture
In a mixing bowl, add 3/4th cup boiled mashed potato, 1/4th tsp salt, 1/4th tsp ajwain, 1/4th tsp haldi, 1/4th tsp red chilly powder and 1/4th tsp mango powder. Mash and mix it well.
Shape the mixture to form 4 round shape vada.
Heat oil in a kadhai for frying.
Dip the vada in batter, and fry evenly on medium flame.
