Heat 1 tsp oil in a frying pan. Add 1/4 tsp rai, 1/4 tsp jeera, 1/4 tsp chopped green chilli and 4 kadi patta.
Once it starts crackling, add 1 tsp ginger garlic paste, 1 tbsp chopped onions and saute.
Once the onions start turning slightly transparent, add 1 tbsp chopped tomato, 1 tbsp peas, 1 tbsp grated carrot and then saute again.
Once slightly cooked, add 1/4 tsp salt, mix and add the previously soaked barley.
Making sure all the ingredients are mixed properly, add a little water and cover the pan.
Allow it to cook for some time and then transfer to a bowl.
Serve hot.
