Gluten free Barley upma tastes delicious when cooked with colorful veggies and spices. Satiating millet snack is an excellent nutritious choice to pack your child's tiffin box.
Heat 1 tsp oil in a frying pan. Add 1/4th tsp rai, 1/4th tsp jeera, 1/4th tsp chopped green chillies and 4pcs. of kadi patta.
Once it starts crackling, add 1 tsp ginger garlic paste, 1 tbsp chopped onions and sauté.
Once the onions start turning slightly transparent, add 1 tbsp chopped tomato, 1 tbsp fresh peas, 1 tbsp chopped carrot and then sauté again.
Once slightly cooked, add 1/4th tsp salt, mix and add the previously soaked barley.
Making sure all the ingredients are mixed properly, add a little water and cover the pan.
Allow it to cook for some time and then transfer to a bowl.
