Banana Modak Recipe

This easy-to-make Banana Modak recipe is suitable for anyone who craves a Modak during the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. A traditional Maharashtrian speciality, rice flour pocket with a filling is an iron-rich energy-dense sweet loved by all.

2 Chopped Tbsp(71.0 gm) Banana
50 Ml(50.0 ml) Water
1/8 Tsp(0.54 gm) Salt
1/8 Powder Tsp(0.24 gm) Green Elaichi
1/4 Powder Cup(42.0 gm) Jaggery
1/4 Cup(45.0 gm) Rice Flour
  • For Filling

    In a pan, add 1/2 cup chopped banana, 1/4th cup jaggery powder and 1/8th tsp green elaichi powder.

  • Mix all ingredients well till jaggery melts.

  • For Dough

    In a kadai boil water as required and add 1/8th tsp salt, 1/4th cup rice flour and mix well

  • Turn off the heat and knead a soft dough.

  • Allow it to cool, take a small portion, add stuffing, round it into a ball and press it from sides.

  • Prepare the rest, transfer the modak to the steamer.

  • Allow it to steam for 15 min.

  • Delicious modak is ready to serve.
