Bajra Peas Roti With Ghee Recipe

Bajra pea bhakhri is a stuffed flatbread consisting of a filling of deliciously spiced mashed peas and bajra as the main ingredient. It is mainly used in maharasthran and western regions of India. This millet is super healthy due to the higher content of carbohydrate as well as protein levels. It is rich in fibre, iron and calcium as well. Peas being rich in protein and potassium makes this bread as a protein-packed accompaniment with all vegetables.

1.5 Tbsp(17.0 gm) Peas

2 Tsp(3.0 gm) Green Garlic (Chopped)

1/4 Tsp(0.73 gm) White Til
ingredients
1/4 Tsp(1.0 gm) Salt
ingredients
1/8 Tsp(0.35 gm) Hing
ingredients
1 Tsp(4.0 gm) Ghee

As Required(20.0 ml) Water
  • In a mixing bowl, take 4 tbsp bajra flour, 1.5 tbsp boiled and mashed peas, 1/4th tsp white til, 2 tsp chopped green garlic, 1/4th tsp salt and 1/8th tsp hing.

  • Mixing it properly with hand, add a little water and knead it into a dough and roll it into a bowl.

  • Coating it very lightly with bajra flour, flatten it and make it in a circular bhakri shape.

  • Heat a nonstick tava on a low flame and roast the bhakri on it. Flip and spread 1 tsp ghee on the bhakri.

  • Allowing it to cook, make sure both sides are browned well.

  • Serve hot.
