Avial With Oil Recipe

Avial is a south Indian recipe which is popular in kerala and tamilnadu. It is a curry heavily made of coconut along with lot of healthy vegetables making it perfectly nutritious recipe. it is a side dish which is served with boiled rice or steamed rice. This recipe is specially made on the occasion of onam festival.

0.13 Julienne Cup(17.0 gm) French Beans
0.13 Diced Cup(12.0 gm) Pumpkin
1/4 Boiled Diced Cup(51.0 gm) Yam
2.0 Chopped Tbsp(19.0 gm) Fresh Coconut
2.0 Tbsp(29.0 gm) Nestlé A+ Curd
1/4 Tsp(0.93 gm) Rai
1.0 Medium(2.0 gm) Green Chilli
3.0 Number(0.33 gm) Kadi Patta
1/4 Tsp(1.0 gm) Salt
1.0 Tsp(3.0 ml) Oil
40.0 Ml(40.0 ml) Water
  • Heat kadhai, add 1 tsp oil, 1/4 tsp rai, 4 no. kadi patta, saute well.

  • Then add 1/4 cup julienne french beans, 1/4 cup diced pumpkin, 1/4 cup boiled & diced yam & saute well.

  • Add 1/4 tsp salt & followed by coconut paste & mix it well.

  • Then add water & let it simmer. Cover with lid & cook for 5 minutes. Serve hot.
