Toddlerhood is the best time to lay a strong foundation for your little one’s health. Regardless of what you feed your child, it might end up becoming a lifelong habit for them. #1. Paneer, Corn and Peas

Ingredients

Paneer [cottage cheese] (1/4 cup)
Boiled and mashed peas (1/4 cup)
Boiled sweet corn kernels (1 cup )
Chopped onion (1 tbsp)
Chopped tomato (1 tbsp)
Chopped garlic (½ tsp)
Ghee (1 tsp)
Mixed herbs (½ tsp)
Black pepper to taste (1/4 tsp)
Salt to taste

Method:

  • Step 1:

    In a pan, heat ghee and add chopped onion and garlic.

  • Step 2:

    Once done, add chopped tomatoes and sauté for about 2 minutes.

  • Step 3:

    Then, add peas and corn. Sauté well and add 1/4th-1/2 cup of water. Make sure you mash it well.

  • Step 4:

    Add paneer, salt, herbs and black pepper powder.

  • Step 5:

    Simmer for about 2 minutes and it’s done!

#2. Sprouts Khichdi

Ingredients

Sprouts [moong, matki, chana] (2 tbsp)
Rice, soaked for 10-15 minutes (2 tbsp)
Ghee (½ tsp)
Cumin seeds (½ tsp)
Chopped onions (1 tsp)
Finely chopped garlic (1 tsp)
Salt to taste
Curry leaves (5/6)
Turmeric powder (1/4 tsp)

Method:

  • Step 1:

    Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds.

  • Step 2:

    Let the seeds crackle. Once they do, add curry leaves and finely chopped garlic and sauté for about a minute.

  • Step 3:

    Now, add onions and sauté for 2 more minutes.

  • Step 4:

    Add turmeric powder and mix well.

  • Step 5:

    Add rice and sprouts, and sauté for 2 minutes before you add water.

  • Step 6:

    Pour about 3/4th cup of water, add salt and mix well. Pressure cook for 3 whistles.

  • Step 7:

    Mash it before serving it to your little one.

#3. Chana Fruit Chaat:

Ingredients

Boiled chana [Kabuli chana] (½ cup)
Pomegranate seeds (2 tbsp)
Chopped apple (2 tbsp)
Chopped strawberries (3-4 whole)
Peeled and separated orange segments (1 /4 cup)
Guava [deseeded] (2 tbsp)
Lemon juice [optional] (½ tsp)
Rock salt to taste

Yellow moong dal [soaked for an hour] (2 tbsp)
Green moong dal [soaked for an hour] (2 tbsp)

Cumin powder (1/2 tsp)
Turmeric powder (1/4 tsp)

    In a blender, add both the dals and blend it well with about 1/4th cup of water.

    Put the entire mixture in a bowl and add turmeric powder, salt and cumin seeds. Mix well.

    Heat a pan and grease it with little oil. Once hot, add a spoonful of the moong dal batter to make a mini chilla.

  • Step 4:

    Make sure the chillas are golden brown from both the sides.

    Serve the chillas hot with mint chutney.

#5. Strawberry and Cottage Cheese Sandwich

Finely chopped strawberries (2 cups)
